Sridhar's OLPC talk from Linux.conf Australia

The video of Sridhar's talk at is online. You can watch/download it from their site.

Overall, I think it went quite well Speaking of talks, I found this one by Sir Ken Robinson to be especially illuminating. It’s summary of how and why traditional education methods are failing us, and what we can do about it. I think it goes some way towards explaining the kind of thinking behind OLPC.

Anonymous says: I don't think the OLPC came out too late and wasn't successful becsuae of the Intel Classmate and netbooks. I think it created a revolution in affordable portable computers. I think it will probably die but it does leave behind a legacy .Acer Apire One, EEE Pc and HP Mini Linux. No manufacturers were thinking about making these devices until they announced plans for the OLPC. It's often the case that the real innovator in markets don't have the success later products haveThink Newton Vs Ipod. September 10, 2012 at 10 pm
