Silvia Kist

OLPC Brazil- Learning Specialist

Silvia Kist is a Learning Specialist, and supported the implementation of OLPC’s 1:1 program in Brazil, after 2 years working in Rwanda.

Silvia was previously a research assistant at Laboratório de Estudos Cognitivos – LEC (Cognitive Studies Lab) under coordination of Professor Léa Fagundes, where she worked in the First XO Pilot in Brazil, investigating the impact of the laptops in Children’s Reading and Writing Development. She is a Specialist in Children Literacy Development and Written language acquisition through of the use of computers. She also used to be a Primary Education Teacher in a Public School in Brazil where she worked with children endangered by poverty and violence. She has a major degree in Pedagogy and a Masters in Education by Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS-Brazil.
